SEEKING STRONG BUSINESS PARTNERS FOR A NEW ERA

First Announcement

The Bucharest 2000 Geophysical Conference and Exposition will focus on the state of the art of geophysical methods applied for hydrocarbon and mineral exploration, as well as on environmental, engineering, and groundwater geophysics. The program will address a broad range of scientific topics including:

Oil & Gas Exploration and Development, presenting and discussing recent developments in geophysical exploration for hydrocarbons. Both onshore and offshore exploration methods will be discussed (acquisition, processing, interpretation, and visualization of 2-D and 3-D seismic reflection data, seismic monitoring of production, high-resolution potential field methods, borehole geophysics, and multidisciplinary interpretation). This subject will be illustrated with examples from hydrocarbon exploration and development of Romania, South Eastern Europe, North Africa, the Middle East, and CIS areas.

Mineral Exploration and Development emphasizing international and local application of mining geophysics (gravity, magnetics, electrical methods, radiometrics, borehole geophysics, integrated interpretation). The conference includes sessions on geophysical prospecting for gold in Romania.

Environmental, Engineering, and Groundwater Geophysics (geophysical technology for environmental, engineering and groundwater mapping and characterization).

Lithosphere structure, regional geology, and tectonics (geodynamics and geophysical crustal studies related to mineral and hydrocarbon accumulations).
